I would like to participate in a wide scope of activities ranging from innovative research work to basic social practices, from professional training to orientated communications. More importantly, I hope I can reach out to the world to get involved in and also favor the networking between isolated hearts and brains. I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to read, I like to write; I like to think, I like to dream; I like to talk, I like to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, I like to see the moonlight at night; I like to feel the music flowing on my face, I like to smell the wind coming from the ocean. I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind, I like to do thought experiment when I cannot sleep in the middle of the night. I like flowers in spring, rain in summer, leaves in autumn, and snow in winter. I like to sleep early, I like to get up late; I like to be alone, I like to be surrounded by people. In general, I am an open-minded, trustworthy, generous, caring and easy-going person in daily life and would like to be a little bit strict in my work.

The goal of my research is to advance the science and engineering by taking advantage of creative thinking, engineering practice, and scientific methodology and spirit. And my area of specification in Civil Engineering is Geotechnical Engineering, Infrastructure, and Sustainability, which have a broad coverage of foundations, pavements, bridges, tunnels, water and waste water utilities, etc. But the scope of my research is much broader than traditional geotechnical studies. My current research focuses on the multiphysics simulation and innovative characterization in porous materials. It is very interdisciplinary research with applications in sustainability of infrastructures, energy resources, environment protection, and innovative materials. The major object of study, porous materials, are frequently devoted to a variety of applications, including catalysis, chemical separation and tissue engineering and can even set to contribute to developments in areas ranging from microelectronics to medical diagnose. Research efforts have been forwarded to the topic in the past years including multiphysics simulations of soil freezing, cement hydration, and gas hydrate dissociation, and innovative characterization using time domain reflectometry sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and tensiometers. I will keep up the hard work for a holistic understanding on various multiphysical processes in porous materials and for more solid and convenient technologies for characterizing porous materials.
